A medley of designs and woods combined – A must-see model for acoustic guitar users at this year’s event [Deviser Special Showcase 2025]
This year’s Deviser Special Showcase is less than a month away! The event is held in May when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, so in this article, we’ll go into more detail about Sakura models!
Until the event, a teaser of some of the limited-edition models to be exhibited at the show is now available to the public.
In this second article, we will introduce some of the limited edition models that are a must-see for acoustic guitar users, with a variety of designs and carefully selected materials.
Limited edition model No.1: Guitar made of Sakura wood from a certain region
The first model we would like to introduce to you is a guitar made of Sakura (Japanese cherry) wood from a certain region. This model is a guitar with a design that brings out the charm of the region in combination with the image of cherry blossoms.
We won’t tell just yet, but maybe you can guess what region of Japan this model is designed around!
The fingerboard features a large feather-like design and blooming cherry blossoms.
The head top also has a cherry blossom design. In the center is a design that could be called a symbol that governs the motif of this guitar.
The last clue is the pickguard. It is not yet colored, but it looks somewhat like something…
Any guesses? This is as far as we can go in this article, but we hope at least your interest was piqued! The full reveal will take place the day of the event, so keep an eye open for it!
Limited edition model No.2: Tulipwood x -The Eagle- model
The next model introduced here is made of a very prized wood material. It is called “tulipwood”. This wood has a history of being used by foreign royal families for high-class furniture, and is known for its extreme hardness. This rare wood is used for a variant of a -The Eagle- model.
The Eagle follows the style of Headway’s flagship model, the HD-115, but was developed by Aska Team Build craftsmen in collaboration with Headway founder Yasuo Momose from scratch.
In this model, tulipwood is used abundantly throughout the entire product, including the headstock top and 3-piece body back center, so the specification is not merely there just for visuals, but also an expectation that the acoustic characteristics of the wood will also be present.
The fretboard is also made of tulipwood. These specs are truly the height of luxury.
It has only been three years since the release of The Eagle, Headway’s new flagship model, but we have a feeling that it will surely be a model that will leave a big impact in the future.
Limited model No.3: Second “Ishikawa Prefecture timber model” using Sakura wood from Kaga
Last year, we produced the “Ishikawa Prefecture Wood Model” using materials produced in Ishikawa Prefecture. One of these guitars was made using Sakura wood from Nanao City in the same prefecture, and the design and specifications of this special model incorporated the prefectural bird, the golden eagle, and gold leaf details.
And now, with the Someiyoshino (One of the most beloved types of Sakura trees in Japan), which comes from the Kaga region of Ishikawa Prefecture, a new acoustic guitar has been created.
The design of the “NOTOZAKURA” model has been completely redesigned since its previous iteration. The woman with a Japanese umbrella on the pickguard has been replaced by a golden eagle. The large flapping wings on the top of the body give it a strong and powerful appearance.
The centerpiece of the 3-Piece body back features a blooming cherry blossom and a golden eagle in flight.
The circle design above it is not finished, but will apparently be completed with one more addition. We wonder how it will turn out together with the coloring. Please look forward to the specifications that will mark a new page in the Ishikawa lumber model.
These guitars, which are a product of Ishikawa Prefecture’s rich nature and historic craft techniques, are anxiously awaiting their completion. We hope you are also awaiting them.
Exclusive to the 2025 Special Showcase event, a number of new models
In addition to the models introduced so far, annual models based on the themes of spring, summer, fall, and winter, as well as models produced exclusively for this event, will be on display.
There is also a guitar with a cute design of a shooting star and cherry blossoms playing together in the inlay on the headstock.
A model painted in sophisticated tones, yet balanced with a subdued ivory pickguard, will also be coming.
The models of the Deviser Special Showcase are getting better and better every year. The models will be a must-see for all acoustic guitar users. Please look forward to the day of the event!
