Introduction
To make the most of the natural beauty and natural tone of the wood. And to create guitars that allow players to express themselves as they wish, with the solid woodworking skills that Yasuo Momose, our craftsman since 1977, has built up over the years.
Under this concept, the flagship line of the Bacchus brand, the “Handmade Series” was launched. The first set-neck model in this series was the DUKE series, including the long-selling DUKE-STANDARD. In recent years, production has not been able to keep up with demand, and we haven’t been able to supply sufficient quantities of DUKE, so we started developing new alternatives to sate this hunger for DUKEs. Please take a look at the new DUKE model we have in store for you!
Flame Maple Top
The see-through coloring enhances the wood grain of each individual instrument, making it a one-of-a-kind choice. The flame maple top wood not only gives the model a unique look but also adds the unique tension and crispness of maple to the sound.
Neck setup angle following the Handmade Series’ 「DUKE」models
This model uses a deep-joint set neck with a large bonding area to the body. The wide ground contact area allows string vibrations to be transmitted firmly from the body to the neck.
The set-neck model’s playability and sound are affected by the neck’s angle, which is based on that of the Handmade Series DUKE, but fine-tuned to the material and design to provide just the right amount of tension and rich body resonance.
Deep joints with high vibration transmission
A deep-joint system is used, which has a large bonding area with the body and transmits vibration firmly. The wide ground contact width also has the advantage of making it easier to achieve accuracy in preparation angles and woodworking.
Carefully designed body thickness
The thickness of the body has been adjusted within a range that does not compromise the balance of the DUKE’s unique appearance. By designing the body slightly thinner, we succeeded in reducing the overall weight of the body, making it easier for even relatively small users to carry and maneuver.
Slim neck
This model implements a Slim U-shaped neck grip. Even players with relatively small hands can easily press the strings and concentrate on playing with smooth left-hand fingering.
Setup by our Japanese specialized inspection team
Every unit is inspected and set up in a specialized inspection department at the Deviser headquarters in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, before being shipped. By finishing each instrument manually and adjusting it as needed while identifying individual differences caused by the wood used as the material, we provide players with solid playability that feels comfortable in their hands straight out of the box.
