Introduction
Japan Tune-up’s first model with Sakura wood back & sides
We present the first Japan Tune-up Series model to use Sakura, or Japanese cherry wood for the body, which had previously been used only in higher-end models. This model not only allows you to enjoy the unique and bright sound of Sakura wood, but also has a coloring and design that incorporates our many years of experience in cherry blossom guitar production and is filled with the charm of Japanese cherry blossoms.
Features
Back & sides made of Japanese cherry wood
This model incorporates “JS” in the name meaning “Japanese Sakura” in the model name to indicate that the guitar is made of Japanese cherry wood. The back and sides of the guitar are made of laminated Japanese Sakura wood.
The coloring is a see-through gradient, which is the result of more than 10 years of experience in cherry blossom guitar manufacturing, and enhances the charm of the unique grain of cherry blossom wood, which is unique to each unity.
Color lineup inspired by spring, summer, fall, and winter
Cherry blossoms are a typical springtime tradition in Japan, and Headway has created a number of fantastically designed variations such as “Winter Cherry Blossoms” and “Summer Cherry Blossoms” models that combine the motif cherry blossoms with each of the four seasons. This model follows the colors selected from among the color schemes Headway has developed to represent the four seasons, and gives you, the player, the option to go with the image that better matches your personality and playstyle.
Mother of pearl shell inlays decorating the headstock and fretboard
The headstock top and fretboard are decorated with a cherry blossom motif, which has been used on many Sakura guitar models. The material used for the guitar is a natural mother-of-pearl shell which changes the way it reflects light depending on the angle you view it from, making the guitar stand out even more for its unique character.
Micarta fretboard
The fretboard wood is made of high-density micarta. It is characterized by its dark appearance, much like ebony, and excellent durability.
Small cutaway shape for easy handling
With a maximum width of approximately 380 mm and a maximum thickness of approximately 106 mm, the small body is easy to hold and fits the body of even smaller players, allowing everyone to relax and enjoy playing. The cutaway design allows access to the higher frets, so you have easier access to a wide range of musical expressions, not only with chord strokes but also for fingerpicking.
About the Headway Japan Tune-up Series
All Headway Japan Tune-up series products are inspected and set up in a specialized inspection department at the Deviser headquarters in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture before shipping. By identifying specific differences in the material used to make each instrument, each instrument is adjusted and finished in a uniform manner to provide players with a solid playing experience that feels comfortable in the hand from the first time the instrument is held.
Dovetail joint & Post-processing assembly
The joint between the neck and body is an important part of guitar production. Headway has been using the “dovetail joint” and “post-processing assembly” processes in its high-end models, and now, these features also come to the JT series products.
Nut & Saddle
On every JT Series guitar, the nut and saddle are carefully adjusted to offer the best string actions so that they are easy to play. Edges of nut and saddles are smoothly rounded for comfortability.
String action
The string height, meaning the string action, plays a major role in the playability of a guitar, and each guitar in the JT series is carefully adjusted to the proper string height for ease of pressing.
Fret edge rounding
The fret wires are filed to keep even response and tone from every fret, with sandpapers in different grit sizes being used. The edges of frets are rounded for smooth access to higher frets more comfortably.
Neck processing
The fretboard is an important part of the sound quality. After being polished with steel wool, it is well protected with lemon oil.
Included case
We include a durable gig bag with a thick cushion to keep your instrument safe. On the backside, there’s a big, A4-sized pocket, where you can comfortably carry all your accessories without a problem.
