Introduction
A “concept” model that aims for the highest quality
The use of master-grade German spruce is one of the biggest features of this model.
This superb German spruce has been seasoned for more than 15 years and was acquired directly by master builder Yasuo Momose. The 34 semi-forward bracing layout was finalized by Furihata himself while checking the tap tone and adjusting the bracing so that it sounds all the way down to the low frequencies.
Furihata’s goal of both playing comfort and sound
High-quality Indian rosewood was selected for the sides and back, and the body thickness was increased by 3mm compared to the standard OM type to add depth to the sound while maintaining the response and tone quality of the OM type.
Simple design because of its high-quality wood composition
A slightly thin narrow V-neck with carbon reinforcement was selected for this model, and a nut width of 44 mm was adopted. We aimed for a grip that is easy to grasp and that can flexibly respond to both fingerstyle and chord strokes. The snowflake outline position on the ebony fingerboard is also a point of attention.
Special head logo used on custom models
The head logo uses a special white mother of pearl writing logo that is usually used only on the Custom series, rare Madagascar rosewood is used for the headstock, and GOTOH’s SXB510 machine heads are used to give the instrument a high-class finish as well as a full range of functional features.
A message from Furihata
This guitar was specially made for this year’s Deviser Special Collection event with the aim of creating an “ATB model that is one rank higher and closer to the Custom Series in both sound and construction.
For the body top, we selected a beautiful master-grade German spruce that Yasuo Momose had carefully stocked for over 15 years.
While many of today’s ATB series guitars have gorgeous inlays or special woods with vivid coloring, this model was kept simple so that the beauty of master-grade German spruce and high-quality Indian rosewood can be enjoyed.
This model was produced with the philosophy of guitar making of Yasuo Momose, whom we admire, in mind, such as “high-quality materials”, “strong and easy-to-play neck”, “solid construction”, and “player-friendly contour”.
