※We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of the Bacchus WOODLINE Handmade Series, and would like to inform you that we will momentarily not be accepting new orders for it due to its scheduled renewal. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers and suppliers, and ask for your understanding as we will resume sales with even more attractive products in the future.
Introduction
The quintessential model of the Woodline Bacchus Handmade Series, designed with excellent playability as a priority which you can see reflected in the downsized body shape selected for this line. With enough range to cover any and all genres without a problem, a really tight tone, and an Oil finish that creates the perfect mood for you to immerse yourself in your performance. Truly a bass among basses, a model that adapts to anyone’s personality and supports your style no matter the situation. It is not a coincidence that so many players regard it so highly.
In 2017, the Woodline series went through a renewal process in order to polish and perfect as many details as possible, thanks to this, Woodline became an amazingly refined and excelling line of instruments.
The main improvements that took place during this time were the placement of the pickups’ pole pieces and the necessary adjustments to the strings’ centering. Furthermore, the bridge pickup was moved closer to the bridge to get an even tighter tone. Additionally, we included the Woodline logo in the pickups’ cover for additional style.
With a Black&Gold twist to our classic Bacchus Oil finish process, the BGP family brings a sense of elegance and an imposing presence to your performances that is very hard to achieve with other instruments.
We at Bacchus have been using an Oil finish process for our products ever since the early days of our brand. Unlike your usual lacquer finish where imperfections in the wood grain can be covered for an even finish, an Oil finish goes into the wood directly, which means the level of sanding and treatment of the wood needs to be near perfect for a successful finish. Throughout the years here at the Bacchus workshop we have perfected the treatment process of our instruments in order to be able to have a pristine Oil finish and in turn, boost not only the looks of our instruments but the way they sound too, and you certainly can notice both of these improvements in our BGP line.
■ GOTOH 404SJ Bridge
We are using a GOTOH 404SJ bridge for this model. This bridge allows for a strings-through-body setup, giving you the liberty to choose which style suits you better, and also making tuning and maintenance easier.
■ Controls
The controls on this passive model are the usual JB style controls, 2Vol, and 1Tone. And of course, it includes a turbo switch that allows you to connect both pickups by pulling up the tone knob and giving, as a result, a more powerful, rounded tone. (While the turbo switch is in effect, the neck pickup volume control dictates the volume of the whole system, and the bridge pickup volume control is bypassed).
